Welcome New Students!
Use your NetID to login to webmail.rice.edu; Rice email is the official communication channel for the university, so check your messages frequently! Check out the Technology Tips (2.53 MB PDF) for new students published earlier this summer. More resources are available for you in this IT web site. Post questions on Joe ITguy's Facebook wall, search for answers in docs.rice.edu, or contact the IT Help Desk. Remember, no one at Rice University will ever ask for your Rice password, so don't give it up to scammers sending out phishing emails.
Never heard of phishing? Check out these samples of hoaxes that have flooded Rice.edu email accounts this year.
