"Search" is an application that quickly scans web pages for a specific word or phrase. Popular web search engines are listed below. Some engines have ways to limit your search to specific topics (i.e. images or news) and have advanced search pages to help specifically target your search.
- Google: http://www.google.com/
- Yahoo: http://www.yahoo.com/
- Ask: http://www.ask.com/
Note: Google allows higher education institutions to utilize their search technology and Rice University incorporates a Google search in many Rice web pages. This search tool can be customized to limit searches to a single web site or to specific multiple sites.
