New students get to know community through service
The latest freshman class is beginning to arrive in Houston. But their first stop isn't Rice's campus. Instead, the newest Owls are getting to know the school's hometown through the Community Involvement Center's Urban Immersion program. The initiative sends participating freshmen throughout the city to participate in various community service projects.
