Professor Han graduated from Tsinghua University in 1982 with bachelor degree in Automation and received her master degree in the same university in 1989.

She became a Vice Chairperson of Tsinghua University Council in September 2006. Her previous posts include officer in Student Affairs Office and Graduate Affairs Office, Tsinghua University; Vice Chairperson of the Labor Union of Tsinghua University, Deputy Vice Chairperson of the Labor Union of Tsinghua University, and Part-time Vice Chairperson of the Union of Beijing Education; Vice Director of the Human Resources Committee of Tsinghua University; Director of the Tsinghua News Center.
