Born in Gansu Province China, Mr. Zhang Lanchun graduated from Lanzhou University in 1982 with bachelor degree in physics.

Mr. Zhang came to the current post as Executive Vice President of NAEA in April 2006. Prior to this, Mr. Zhang was deputy director-general, Department of Personnel, Ministry of Education. He also served as consul in Chinese Consulate in Huston USA between 1991 and 1995 and Counsellor of Education in Chinese Embassy in Sweden between1998 and 2001.

Mr. Zhang is also a standing member of Chinese Higher Education Society, executive deputy director of Chinese Society of Higher Education Administration.
