Preventive Health
We offer many preventive care services including Physical Exams(*), Immunization updates, TB screening, Flu Shots, Pap Smears, Cholesterol Screening, and Diabetes Screening. *-some types of comprehensive, lengthy physical exams (e.g. Antartic, Peace Corps) may not be obtained through Student Health.
Pap Smears
We offer first time and repeat pap smears for cervical cancer screening. First time pap smear patients will have a full explanation of the exam. Patients may request screening for sexually transmitted diseases at the Pap Smear visit. Contraceptive counseling will also be provided upon request. It is recommended that the pap be scheduled mid-cycle.
Immunizations
We offer first time vaccines and boosters. There is a fee for shots. Vaccines offered include:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Meningitis
- Influenza (seasonally)
- HPV
- Tetanus
- Tetanus/Pertussis
TB Testing
Patients needing a TB test (PPD) may walk in to see the nurse from 8-11 a.m. or 2-4 p.m. TB testing is not done on Thursdays. TB testing costs $15. Results will be read in the clinic in 48 to 72 hours. Patients must return to have the test read.
