Former Rice athlete makes leap to U.S. Olympic team
Funmi Jimoh ’07 is heading to Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. The former Rice track star qualified for the U.S. Olympic team by finishing third in the long jump at the U.S. track and field trials. Jimoh is Rice’s first female track athlete to earn a spot on the U.S. squad.
Rice forms collaboration with Chinese university
Rice University President David Leebron signed a research partnership with China's Zhejiang University Thursday to establish an International Collaborative Center on Quantum Matter. The collaboration is another step forward for Leebron's "Vision for the Second Century," which includes extending Rice's international reach and impact.
