Accounts
Your NetID is your key to many electronic doorways at Rice including email, OwlSpace, logging into campus computers, and connecting via VPN (virtual private network) to the Rice network from off-campus locations. You can request other accounts as well, such as Oracle calendar, Rice Events Calendar, and Banner.
NetID
- What is it? - An overview of NetID.
- Kerberos - The network authentication tool that is being used.
- Linked Accounts - Information of the accounts that are linked and how you can link them.
Active Directory
Active Directory at Rice (or ADRice) is used to simplify support for individual computers and accounts.
Password Changes
We recommend that you change your NetID password at least twice each year (changing your password when you change your clocks for Daylight Savings Time is a good habit). Forgotten NetID passwords can be reset by IT support staff.
Resources & Services
Most customers think of IT for help with email, storage, and calendar accounts, but IT supports many more systems and applications across the Rice campus. Browse this mini-catalogue for a summary of the resources, tools, applications and services provided by IT.
