Accessing Your Email

Overview

Your email is stored on a central server. There are several methods for viewing and downloading your email off of this system. Be aware that you have a finite, though generous, amount of space for your email. To check your usage contact the Help Desk. The following are descriptions and links to assist you with your email.

Webmail

Webmail is an online tool that allows you to access your Rice email from any computer connected to the internet.

To login from WebMail page:

  1. Click the link to IMP
  2. Most users email will be stored on the Rice mail server. Select it by clicking.
  3. Use your NetID and NetID password to login

Mail Clients at Rice

Once at Rice you may wish to use a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird. Rice provides information on how to configure the correct settings for multiple clients on our web site.

Mail Clients away from Rice

There are different settings required when checking your email through Outlook or another client when you are not located on campus. Information on how to connect from off campus with these clients can be found in our web site. WebSieve can be used for E-mail vacation or out of office messages, forwarding, and filtering.
