IT is expanding and seeking innovative team members in the following areas:
- Systems Administrator (Systems Management)
As a member of Rice's Information Technology division, the Systems Administrator II will be responsible for providing expert level support and instruction in the configuration and implementation of the client/server computing environments campus-wide.

The Network Architect will be responsible for providing high-quality, reliable, flexible, and appropriate infrastructure networking technology solutions for Rice University. These systems will be used campus-wide by faculty, students, and staff in accordance with Rice University's academic goals. The Network Architect will work very closely with Information Technology Directors, Assistant Directors, Managers, and other IT staff in order to properly design and support these systems. Under limited supervision by a Senior Network Architect or the Manager of Networking, the Network Architect is responsible for technical aspects of networking design and implementation.

As a team member of the IT division's Educational Technologies group, the Educational Technology Technician provides customer services to the IT division and Rice University's staff, faculty and students. The Educational Technology Technician monitors AV systems status and serves as the "first responder" for issues or problems on campus. The Educational Technology Technician is responsible for assisting faculty and other system users in the general use of instructional technologies, providing on-the-spot assistance to users if problems occur, and alerting appropriate IT system support staff of outages and other problems when they occur. Numerous other tasks and duties including shipping and receiving, A/V event assistance, system and component installation, troubleshooting, repair and monitoring are performed by the Educational Technology Technician.

This position reports to the associate director Web development in the Communications Service department in the Office of Public Affairs. The Web production coordinator teams with graphic designers and writers in design and production for Rice University's website. The Web production coordinator is responsible for designing and producing easy-to-follow pages based on architecture developed by the associate director Web development, including interactive elements such as forms, applets, JavaScript, Flash etc.
