Campus Computing Labs and Classrooms

Helpful Tip

If you have a problem with a computer in a lab don't turn it off, instead report the problem at http://helpdesk.rice.edu using another computer and leave the computer on. Support staff remotely update lab computers and those that are turned off unexpectedly could miss critical updates.

Information Technology operates several computing labs on campus. These labs are for educational use and are available to all members of the Rice community. Unless reserved, most labs are open 24 hours a day (unlocked during the day, and accessible with ID at night). Teaching labs can be reserved for classes, but are not open for general use. If you are unsure of the location of a building, see a campus map.

Over 100 classrooms have been equipped with Rice Podiums, providing easy access to technology. Rooms generally include a Mac, PC, VCR, video projector and room audio equipment, among other items.
