Linked accounts reduce number of passwords

If you Change your NetID password the new password will be utilized by multiple accounts immediately.

All IT-related and synchronized accounts can now utilize the same secure NetID password.

Passwords can be changed at https://apply.rice.edu. Log in with your NetID and NetID password. Access Existing Accounts through the Account Maintenance page, where you have the option to change your NetID password.

To begin using the same password for all your IT-related accounts, simply change your NetID password and the new NetID password will be applied to all your accounts in these systems:

• Mail systems: New Enterprise Mail
• Request Tracker
• Active Directory (windows desktop logins, servers and services)
• Dial-up
• VPN
• DSPAM
• Wireless Registration
• Exchange services
• SharePoint

In the future, NetID password synchronization will also occur with other departmentally supplied mail systems
