Scenario: I'm in Quarantine
For several reasons your system may be isolated or removed from Rice's Network. This list is a brief overview of what to do if your computer is placed in quarantine.

- Can my system be falsely identified as a threat? If so, what should I do?
- It is extremely unlikely for a system to be falsely quarantined, however it is possible if we receive an inaccurate subpoena from the movie or music industry asking us to quarantine your system. If this happens, contact the Help Desk to show that your system has not been involved in any illegitimate activities and we will be happy to remove the quarantine.

Virus:
- Contact Help Desk (helpdesk @ rice.edu; http://helpdesk.rice.edu, or 713-348-HELP(4357)) for assistance removing the malicious threat. If necessary, you may need an appointment with your SCC or your department's support provider.
- Once the threat has been removed, your IT representative will assist you in removing your system from quarantine.
