Compatibility Warning for Upgraded Versions of MacSLIP 1.X
If you have installed a new version of MacSLIP on a system which previously used version 1.X of MacSLIP, your new version may still be using the original login scripts from version 1.X. If you installed MacSLIP 3.0.X on a fresh system which did not have a previous version of MacSLIP, then you will not suffer from this problem.
Current users of MacSLIP 1.X or 2.X should upgrade to the latest version 3.0.2 or higher. If you bring your original 1.X or 2.X disk to the Help Desk at 713-348-HELP (4357) (Mudd room 103), they will gladly replace it with an updated copy.
Once you have installed the current version of MacSLIP (or if it's installed already), you should open the MacSLIP control panel. Click the Configure... button. Look at the pull-down menu labeledScript. Is the name Cisco.script listed there? If so, then you don't need to continue with these instructions.
If the Cisco.script is not listed in the Script menu, then you will need to execute the following procedure. From the Script menu, select Set... A standard file dialog box will appear; use it to locate and select the file:
System Folder:Preferences:MacSLIP Folder:Cisco.script
The Script entry in the Configuration box should now read Script: Cisco.script. Once you have executed this configuration change, you can switch to the new number by clicking the Variables button; select the phone entry and click Edit; enter the new phone number 713-313-8300, and click Save. Click Done to return to the MacSLIP control panel.
