Licensed Software: AutoCAD 2008

AutoCAD software is a customizable 2D and 3D design and drafting environment and toolset. Architects, engineers, drafters, and design-related professionals use it to create, view, manage, plot and output, share, and reuse accurate, information-rich drawings.

The AutoCAD licensing agreement annual period runs from 8/30/2007 - 8/29/2008. Software is for Windows only and is deployed for the School of Architecture.

A limited number of individual licenses are available for faculty, staff, and students to use on Rice-owned machines only from the software office for the same annual period for $250.00. The license can be purchased with an Inter Departmental Transfer form (IDT). To purchase a license please email Charlita Marrs.

Single Installation

Faculty, staff, and students must submit a request to helpdesk@rice.edu to ask their divisional representative to install AutoCAD on your Rice owned computer. The license is restricted to individuals who meet the following definition: Must be Rice University faculty, academic staff or at least half-time Rice University faculty, staff or students. Individuals from other institutions and non-academic staff are excluded from this licensing agreement.
