Dr. Thomson is director of the Baylor-UTPA Hispanic Center of Excellence
(HCOE) project. He is responsible for assuring that project activities and
plans are implemented and maintained as the project progresses. He
oversees project planning and development, fiscal management, personnel
decisions, quality control and all other issues related to project
operation.

Dr. Wedig is project coordinator for the Premedical Honors College component of the HCOE project at UTPA. She is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing the Premedical Honors College (PHC) curriculum, for program recruitment, for monitoring student progress and taking steps to remediate any potential academic and/or personal problems arise, and for serving as an interface, along with Dr. Thomson, between Baylor and UTPA.

Mrs. Dresden is the program evaluation/documentation director. She is responsible for developing and implementing the project's documentation/evaluation plan, including data collection, analysis and reporting.

Dr. Moreno is the program science education coordinator. She is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing the PHC curriculum, working with Dr. Wedig to coordinate academic and non-academic program activities, and assisting in faculty development initiatives for UTPA faculty.

Dr. Ochoa-Shargey is the project coordinator for student recruitment and
counseling. She is responsible for developing recruitment materials for
the PHC and for visiting South Texas high school administrators,
counselors, teachers and students to increase program awareness and expand
the program applicant pool.

Dr. Pavlik is the program minority health instruction coordinator. She is
responsible for coordinating the project's faculty and student curricular
research activities and clinical clerkships related to minority health
issues. In addition, she has been working with faculty and staff at Rice
University in the development and implementation of this WWW server.

Mr. Denk is the project's senior administrative assistant. He is
responsible for assisting Dr. Thomson in overall project management. He
also serves as a liaison between project faculty and staff in Houston and
South Texas, maintains the project data base, produces reports and
disseminates information about program developments and assists in the
evaluation and selection of students applying for admission to the program.
