ARAB   101 INTRODUCTION TO MODERN ARABIC LANGUAGE & Credits 4.00  Fall 99
           * DISTRIBUTION COURSE: GROUP I
This course introduces students to the Arabic language.  After learning
the alphabet, students practice pronunciation skills, build
vocabularies, and learn basic grammatical constructions.  Each lesson
includes a short reading exercise, vocabulary, and grammar drills.  The
course emphasizes spoken as well as written Arabic.  Language lab
required.  No prerequisites.

ARAB   201 INTERMEDIATE MODERN ARABIC LANGUAGE & CU Credits 4.00  Fall 99
           * DISTRIBUTION COURSE: GROUP I
Second-year Arabic emphasizes etymology and introduces students to the
Arabic dictionary.  Students develop proficiency in reading and writing.
Language lab required.
Prereq- Arabic 102 or permission of instructor.
