ENGI 201   INTRO TO ENGINEERING DESIGN              Credits 4.00  Fall 01

This is a hands-on introduction to engineering design.  Using skills developed
in the course, teams of students will design and construct a functional robot
and program this robot to perform simple tasks.  The course is completely
self-contained, assumes no prerequisites, and is intended for both engineering
majors and nonmajors. Also offered as ELEC 201.

ENGI 302   ETHICAL DECISION MAKING FOR ENGINEERS    Credits 3.00  Fall 01
A review of ethical issues encountered in the conduct of work as a professional
engineer.  Impact of personal and cultural value systems on the effectiveness
of individual engineers, project teams, and technical organizations employed in
diverse business environments will be explored. Also offered as CIVI 320.

ENGI 303   ENGINEERING ECONOMICS AND MGMT           Credits 3.00  Fall 01
Introduction to the evaluation of alternative investment opportunities with
emphasis on engineering projects and capital infrastructure.  Time value of
money concepts are developed in the context of detailed project evaluation and
presentations.  In addition, concepts and applications of risk analysis and
investment under uncertainty are developed. Requires oral and written
presentations by students.  Also offered as CIVI 322.

ENGI 305   NEW VENTURE COMMUNICATION FOR SCIENCE AN Credits 1.00  Fall 01
New Ventures Communication teaches student involved in research or design
courses in science or engineering how to write an early-stage business plan and
give 10 minute financing presentations. Also offered as NSCI 305. May be taken
for credit once only.
Prereq- Registered in a research or design course or permission of instructor.
