PORT 101   INTRODUCTION PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE AND CUL Credits 5.00  Fall 01
Introduction to the study of the Portuguese language and culture with emphasis
on the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course
uses textbooks as well as music, websites and videos for access to various
kinds of cultural material and pretexts for communication. Includes an hour/wk
of lab work. Portuguese 101 is designed for students with little or no
knowledge of the Portuguese language. Enrollment is limited to 20 students per
class.

PORT 201   INTERMEDIATE PORTUGUESES LANGUAGE AND CU Credits 4.00  Fall 01
* DISTRIBUTION COURSE: GROUP I
Students progress to more creative oral and written communicative  activities.
Texts, music, videos, and the internet will be used to address a wide variety
of topics and real-life situations. Enrollment limited to 20 per class.
Prereq- Port 101 and 102 or permission of instructor.
