GMAN 376   SPECIAL TOPIC: NATIONAL SOCIALISM: THE I Credits 3.00  Spring 02
This course explores the roots of Nazism in modern German culture and seeks to
define the diversity of its appeal as a mass movement. Primary evidence are
works of literature, architecture, music, and film. Readings and discussions in
English. Also offered for majors as GERM 391.

GMAN 392   SPECIAL TOPIC: GERMAN FAIRY TALE-OLD AND Credits 3.00  Spring 02
Discussion of several prototypes from the fairy-tale collection of the Brothers
Grimm and the subsequent development of the "literary" fairy tale from Goethe
and the Romantics to the 20th century. Taught in German. Also offered as GERM

GMAN 395   GERMAN SOCIAL ISSUES: CITIZENSHIP, MIGRA Credits 3.00  Spring 02
This course offers an introduction to the relationship between citizenship,
migration, and national identity in Germany in the process of European
integration and the internalization of labor markets. In this context, the
change of citizenship and the need of immigration will not lead to social
integration without a change of national culture and identity. Taught in
English. Content varies from year to year. Also offered as SOCI 393.
