STAT 486 INTRODUCTION TO STOCHASTIC MARKET MODELS Credits 3.00 Spring 02
This course takes the classical efficient market models and superimposes upon

other mechanism. It discusses reasons why the Black-Scholes option pricing
model (which won the 1997 Nobel Prize in Economics) is fragile to departures
from efficient market theory. The course is oriented toward using computer
simulations as an alternative to closed form solutions.
