WIES 280   EDUCATION BEYOND THE HEDGES: HOUSTON URB Credits 3.00  Spring 03
This course is designed to empower students of all academic backgrounds with an
in-depth understanding of the issues affecting children in urban and low-income
schools in Houston.  Through in-class discussions and readings, guest speakers,
classroom observations, and the creation of unique school service projects,
students will gain a greater awareness of educational policies and innovations
that will allow them to become effective life-long advocates for students.
