RICH 351   PHILOSOPHY AND THE SIMPSONS              Credits 2.00  Fall 03
The Simpson, which will soon become the longest-running sitcom in television
history, is not just a very funny show, though it is certainly that. It is also
a rich source of social commentary and ethical and existential insights. As
such, it provides an ideal vehicle for exploring, in a discussion-oriented
class, various ethical and political themes. I will use the book the "	The
Simpsons and Philosophy", a collection of articles mostly by philosophers, in
conjunction with episodes and portions of episodes. Enrollment is limited to
25.
