NSCI 112 SCIENCE TODAY II: CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, A Credits 3.00 Spring 97
* FOUNDATION COURSE: GROUP III
An integrated survey of the main principles of Chemistry, Biology and
Earth Science intended for nonscience/engineering majors. The course
will focus on scientific methodology and a few universal laws and will
tie these to practical experience and societal issues. A goal of the
course is to prepare the student to appreciate popular accounts of
scientific discoveries and to form intelligent decisions on contemporary
scientific issues.

NSCI 230 COMPUTATION IN NATURAL SCIENCE Credits 2.00 Spring 97
An introduction to scientific problem solving and analysis using
computational methods. Instruction in the use of MATLAB on a Unix
workstation will be included. Primarily intended for prospective majors
in the natural sciences.
Prereq- Chem 101, 102 or Chem 111, 112, Math 101, 102, and Phys 101,
102.
