Uses of accounting data to plan and evaluate long-run investment and financing
decisions and short-run price, costing, output, and financing decisions of the
business firm or public entity.

Using a case and readings format, the course deals with controversial issues in
financial accounting and the analysis and interpretation of companies'

ACCO 506 CORPORATE FINANCIAL REPORTING Credits 3.00 Spring 00
The preparation of financial statements and the use of accounting data for
managerial decision making are examined. The course illustrates how accounting
standards, corporate strategy, and managers' motives shape accounting policies
and procedures. Topics include liabilities, shareholders' equity, stock
compensation plans, deferred taxes, leases, pensions, consolidations, and
multi-national operations.
Prereq- Acco 501 or equivalent.
