6. Nepal
When Leaving Farnsworth, turn right, heading away from the Student Center entrance doors. The first door on the left is Blair Lounge. This room contains nine photographs of Nepal, taken by Rebecca (Bergquist) Neumann '01. She sought to document the remote forms of infrastructure in the Himalayas in order to raise awareness of infrastructure requirements in the developed world. She believed that a person is more likely to protect the source of their drinking water if they know where it comes from.
These photographs illustrate the beauty of Nepal and its culture, the contrast between Kathmandu and the remote Himalayas, and forms of remote infrastructure.
