Directions

To the Student Center >>

  1. Enter Rice University through Entrance 20, on the Right heading NE on Rice Blvd., or the Left heading SW on Rice Blvd. from Montrose/Sunset Blvd.
  2. The building is at the second stop sign, on your left-hand side.
  3. FOR PARKING: At the second stop sign, take a right. Your first left will be a declined ramp. This is the entrance to the Central Parking Garage on campus. For more information on parking, please visit the Rice University Parking Web site.

From the Galleria/Uptown area:

  1. Take West Loop 610 South and exit to US 59 North/Downtown.
  2. Exit US 59 at Greenbriar; stay on the frontage road.
  3. Turn right at the Greenbriar light and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
  4. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.
  5. Turn right into Gate #12 and park in any legal parking space in the Rice Stadium lot.
  6. Ride the free campus shuttle from the bus shelters to your campus destination.

From Downtown Houston:

  1. Take Smith Street (a one-way street) until it becomes US 59 South.
  2. Exit US 59 at Greenbriar.
  3. Turn left under US 59 and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
  4. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.
  5. Turn right into Gate #12 and park in any legal parking space in the Rice Stadium lot.
  6. Ride the free campus shuttle from the bus shelters to your campus destination.

From the West:

  1. Take I-10 to I-610 South.
  2. Exit Hwy-59 and take it North.
  3. Exit Greenbriar/Shepard, and turn right at the first light, Greenbriar.
  4. Turn left on Rice Blvd.
  5. Enter Entrance 18, on your right.
  6. Visitor parking is available on your right.
  7. To get to the Central Garage, use the directions above.

From North, South and East:

  1. Those approaching Houston on I-45 from the north (such as IAH Airport) or south and I-10 from the east or west should then take US 59 South to the Greenbriar exit.
  2. Those approaching Houston on US 59 from the north should exit at Greenbriar and turn left on Greenbriar under US 59 toward campus.
  3. Those approaching Houston on US 59 from the south should exit at Greenbriar, stay on the frontage road, and turn right on Greenbriar toward campus.
