NEWS IN BRIEF: Leadership symposium

On April 17 the Office of Student Activities and the InterClub Council will sponsor a leadership symposium in the Student Center. This afternoon of workshops geared toward student organizations is open to all Rice students.

The symposium will begin at noon with lunch and an address by Zenaido Camacho, vice president for student affairs.

After the speech, hour-long workshops and half-hour mini-workshops will be available throughout the day.

Workshops will address various leadership concerns and will include starting an organization, planning a major event, fundraising, channels and resources at Rice, budgeting, publicity and leadership styles.

The schedule of the day's events will be included in flyers posted around campus. Students interested in attending should come to the Student Center on the afternoon of April 17.

RSVPs for lunch with Camacho can be made by calling the Office of Student Activities at ext. 4097 by 5 p.m. on April 12.
