NEWS IN BRIEF: Few affected by "flammulated" downtime
According to William Deigaard, senior systems administrator for systems and language management, a central processing board failed at 5:30 a.m.
A call was logged into the service provider, who quickly replaced the central processing board. Flammulated was back up by 10:30 a.m.
The message relaying the news was distributed on Owlnet but was left out too long, according to Deigaard. This caused undue concern among users.
Few programs were affected by the crash.
"A few license servers were affected, and you couldn't run a few programs," Deigaard said. "It affected me more than anyone."
