U.N. dignitary to speak
Nafis Sadik, executive director of the United Nations Population Fund, will speak at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 in Hamman Hall.
Sadik will talk about improving the status of women and how it relates to global economic and social growth.
She will also discuss the impact of population growth on environment, literacy, poverty, economic growth and reproductive health.
Sadik, a native of Pakistan, is a physician specializing in women's health. She joined the U.N. Population Fund in 1971. She is a former director of Pakistan's National Family Planning Service.
