NEWS IN BRIEF: Student wins 1996 Marshall Scholarship
The British government recently announced the 40 winners of the British Marshall Scholarship.
The British Embassy established the scholarship in 1953, to thank the U.S. for assistance received under the Marshall Plan.
Will Rice College senior Genevieve Crane was one of the recipients of the scholarship.
Students "who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership potential" are given the opportunity to study for two or three years at a British university.
Crane will be studying at the University of London.
