FRIDAY, MARCH 1

* The men's baseball team opens the Harvey Suites/Rice Invitational with a game against Southwestern Louisiana at Cameron Field. 4:30 p.m.

The Freshmakers, a rock 'n' roll band composed of Rice graduates, performs live at Stage One (12310 A Hempstead) at 10 p.m. There's no cover.

* Need a good laugh? Ninety-five minutes worth of classic comic shorts will air at the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. Charlie Chaplin's His Musical Career , Buster Keaton's What Next? and more. Stay for W.C. Fields' The Dentist and Laurel and Hardy's The Music Box at 9:15 p.m. The cost for one or more films is $3.50 with a student ID.

SATURDAY, MARCH 2

* Show your support for the women's basketball team. Watch them take on Texas Tech at Autry Court. 7 p.m.

* The baseball team plays Oklahoma State at Cameron Field as part of the Harvey Suites/Rice Invitational at 1 p.m.

* The award-winning film, Little Odessa , shows in the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m. $4 with a student ID.

SUNDAY, MARCH 3

* The women's tennis team will compete against Vanderbilt in Jake Hess Tennis Stadium at 1:30 p.m.

* The baseball team plays Lamar at Cameron Field at 3:30 p.m., winding up the three-day Harvey Suites/Rice Invitational series.

* Little Odessa shows again at the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. $4 with a student ID.

MONDAY, MARCH 4

* Spring break has finally arrived, baby. Relax -- it's allowed, you know.

* See the baseball team pit their talents against Maine's at 7 p.m. at Cameron Field.

TUESDAY, MARCH 5

* Stop by Cameron Field to watch the baseball team beat Maine at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6

* The baseball team plays Michigan at 7 p.m. at Cameron Field.

* As part of the Rice Design Alliance's "Making It" lecture series, Tom F. Peters will speak in the Brown Auditorium at the Museum of Fine Arts at 8 p.m. For ticket info., call 524-6297.

THURSDAY, MARCH 7

* While you're lounging around enjoying spring break, the baseball team is sweating it out at 7 p.m. at Cameron Field in their game against Central Florida. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

FRIDAY, MARCH 8

* Sophomores: just one more week until you must file your major with the Office of the Registrar. A whole seven days to commit to a life-long area of discipline, so just relax.

* Come see the baseball team take on Massachusetts at 7 p.m. at Cameron Field.

SATURDAY, MARCH 9

* The baseball team challenges Massachusetts at 2 p.m. at Cameron Field.

* The Van Buskirk Memorial Fencing Tournament begins at 9 a.m. at Autry Court.

SUNDAY, MARCH 10

* Classes resume tomorrow. Reality sets in at around 10:30 p.m.

* Come to Cameron Field at noon to see the baseball team in their game against Massachusetts.

* The Van Buskirk Memorial Fencing Tournament continues today at Autry Court.

MONDAY, MARCH 11

* Classes resume, so wake up, scrounge around for a pen that works and get to class.

* The SA meeting starts at 10 p.m. in Kelley Lounge of the Student Center.

TUESDAY, MARCH 12

* It's Mock Interview Day. Drop by Career Services in the Student Center for practice interviewing.

* RPC will meet in Miner Lounge of the Student Center at 9 p.m.

* McNeese State is playing the baseball team at 5 p.m. at Cameron Field.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13

* The RPC throws a luau-style birthday party for Willy, complete with hula dancers, a limbo contest and a fire-eater. 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner won't be served in the residential colleges, so come to the party in the Academic Quad (Autry Court in case of rain) for dinner. Free with a pre-paid meal plan. $3.50 with an OC meal plan. $5 otherwise. Tickets can be purchased from headwaiters.

* The Brown Bag Lunch Concert, held in Kelley Lounge in the Student Center, costs $3 and is sponsored by SCAB.

* It's Jones College's Pub Night.

* Career Services offers a workshop featuring videotaped interviews. 4 p.m.

* "Asteroids and Dinosaurs," a lecture by Dr. Sidney van den Bergh, starts at 4 p.m. in Anderson Biological Laboratories, Room 131.

* Structural engineer Guy Nordenson and mechanical engineer Mahadev Raman speak on design as part of the Rice Design Alliance's "Making It" lecture series. In the Brown Auditorium at the Museum of Fine Arts at 8 p.m. For ticket info., call 524-6297.

THURSDAY, MARCH 14

* SCAB brings comedian Geechy Guy to the Grand Hall in the Student Center at 9 p.m.
