FRIDAY, MARCH 15

* The time has come, sophomores: It's the deadline to file majors with the Registrar's Office.

* Brown and Jones Colleges each have college night.

* In celebration of its 10th anniversary, RSVP hosts a TG from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ray Courtyard in the Student Center.

* It was as much a part of our youth as "Silver Spoons" and Michael Jackson: Re-live the days of Donkey Kong, Pacman, Q-Bert, Pole Position, Pong, Frogger and Pitfall at Will Rice College's ATARI Tower Party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Featuring Joe Guitar Hughes. Free.

* The men's tennis team competes in the Rice Invitational at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

* It's opening night for Sid Richardson College's presentation of My Fair Lady . The show starts at 8 p.m. in the SRC Commons. Tickets cost $4 for students and $6 for the public. Call 527-4040 to reserve your seats.

* Lovett College Theater presents The Foreigner at 8 p.m. in the Lovett Commons. Admission is $4 for students and $5 for the public.

* Three Rice a capella singing groups -- the Rice Philharmonics, the Lager Rhythms and the Brown Quartet -- join an award-winning group, The Other Guys, in a performance of spiritual, jazz and popular music. 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel at the Student Center. Free.

* High Hopes , a satire of class struggle in Britain, shows at the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. Stay for Naked , a harrowing vision of London's dispossessed youth. It begins at 9:30 p.m. The cost for one or both films is $3.50 with a student ID.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

* Hanszen College's Saint Patrick's Day party runs from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Come hear the DJ and band and tank up on free beer, soft drinks and food. Free.

* The Rice Invitational for men's tennis continues in Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

* Louis Malle is remembered with the Rice Media Center's screening of two of his films. Zazie dans Le Métro shows at 7:30 p.m., and The Fire Within starts at 9:15 p.m. $3.50 for one or both films with a student ID.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17

* The men's tennis team concludes its tournament at Jack Hess Tennis Stadium today.

* A faculty recital, featuring bassoonist Benjamin Kamins, flutist Aralee Dorough and guest pianist Edith Orloff, begins at 2:30 p.m. in Duncan Recital Hall. Free.

* The Rice Media Center presents a collection of documentary films about female orchestral conductors and their music. Included films are Antonia, Portrait of a Conductor, A Woman Is a Risky Bet and A Leap Across the Bar Lines . 7:30 p.m. Admission costs $3.50 with a student ID.

MONDAY, MARCH 18

* If your bangs have started to get in the way when you eat, take note: Barber Day lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Grand Hall lobby in the Student Center. Sponsored by SCAB. The cost is $5.

* The SA changeover will take place in the `R' Room in the Stadium from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

* Cheerleading tryouts begin in Autry Court, running weekdays until March 29. Each day, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., participants will be prepared for varsity cheerleader tryouts on April 2. For more info., contact Niki Garcia at 799-1514 or John Hunter at 630-8871.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19

* The Brown Bag Lunch Concert, held in Kelley Lounge in the Student Center, costs $3 and is sponsored by SCAB.

* Spring elections begin. Polls will be open at the colleges from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come out and cast your ballot.

* The RPC meeting takes place in Miner Lounge in the Student Center at 9 p.m.

* The Houston Rockets play the Golden State Warriors at the Summit at 7 p.m.

* SYZYGY, New Music at Rice, begins at 8 p.m. in Duncan Recital Hall.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20

* The Houston Aeros take on Indianapolis at 7 p.m. at the Summit.
