SPORTS NOTEBOOK: Crew hosts Rice Invitational

The crew team hosted the University of Texas and Tulane University on March 2 in Clear Lake.

The team of Justin Gillingsrud, Tim Grogean, Herman Yue, Brian Harms and coxswain Adam Cohen took first in the men's varsity four. Their time of 7:01.2 was over seven seconds ahead of Tulane and 27 seconds ahead of Texas.

The team placed teams in second place in the men's junior varsity light four's, men's novice eight's, women's varsity four's.

Upcoming events for the team include the Heart of Texas Regatta to be held in Austin on March 23 and the Great Plains Rowing Championships to be held in Topeka, Kan., April 12-13.
