PHOTO: Check out the comet
The comet is coming. This image of Comet Hyakutake was taken Tuesday night by Space Physics and Astronomy professor Reginald Dufour. The comet is now visible with the unaided eye and will be closest to the Earth Monday. The SPAC Department has reserved the telescopes at George Observatory south of Houston early next week to observe the comet. Interested students can contact the department for more details. Also, SPAC Professor Patrick Hartigan will be setting up binoculars outside Fondren Library in the evening early next week for local viewing.
