* Slide shows from the Habitat for Humanity trips to Honduras and Gainesville will be shown from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Kyle Morrow Room in Fondren Library. Free.

TUESDAY, APRIL 2

* The President's Lecture Series presents "The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism," given by former U.S. ambassador Michael Novak at 8 p.m in the Grand Hall in the Student Center. For ticket info., call 527-6093. Free.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

* SCAB hosts a free Brown Bag Lunch Concert in the Student Center at noon.

* The women's tennis team takes on Nicholls State at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium at 2 p.m.

* Failure can be a good thing. As part of the Rice Design Alliance lecture series, "Making It," Henry Petroski, author of To Engineer Is Human , speaks about the role of failure in successful design. * Spring Recess begins. Turn off your alarm clock, roll over and go back to bed.

* Women's tennis plays Southern Methodist University at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium. 10 a.m.

* The baseball team plays Texas Tech at noon at Cameron Field.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7

* What a waste of time. Set your clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Savings.

* Happy Easter, baby.

MONDAY, APRIL 8

TUESDAY, APRIL 9

* Come see the baseball team play Lamar University at Cameron Field at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10

* The University Blue Release Reception lasts from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the CoffeeHouse in the Student Center. UBlue magazines will be distributed. Enjoy poetry readings, a student art exhibit and free cookies and brownies.

* Angleton Grill opens in Hammond Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for students and $25 for the public. For reservation info., call 527-4027.

THURSDAY, APRIL 11

* Come to the International Buffet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grand Hall in the Student Center.

* Angleton Grill , written by Bren Dubay, plays again at Hammond Hall at 8 p.m.
