'95 `Campanile' to be released in fall
Charles Klein, 1994-95 Campanile editor, has announced that the yearbook will be printed over the summer and distributed at the beginning of the fall semester.
The 1994-95 Campanile experienced several setbacks over the course of the school year. Without a staff and the added burden of a computer-destroyed athletics file, the yearbook was not completed during the first semester of the current fiscal year as originally planned. The printers also sent back problematic picture proofs and page layouts, furthering the delay. Although the 1995 Campanile has been completed, the current setback in distribution is due to a decision by the printer to put off publication of the book.
About six weeks ago, the printing plant decided to postpone printing in order to avoid conflicting with the high demand for spring deliveries of high school yearbooks.
The plant failed to communicate the delay to Klein, who had hoped to get the yearbook printed and distributed before the end of the fiscal year.
Currently, a TG or Willy's Pub yearbook-signing activity is being planned to complement the distribution of Campanile s. The Campanile staff will mail letters requesting the addresses of graduating seniors so that the yearbook can be delivered to them free of charge. Those who graduated with the class of 1995 will receive yearbooks at their current addresses.
"I think that ... the student body has had somewhat of a sense of humor about it. I thought that was great. It has been a frustrating experience for me, and it's been frustrating for students, too. So I can fully sympathize with them," Klein said.
