NEWS IN BRIEF: Mosquito fogging

In order to combat the rash of mosquitoes left by the recent rains, Facilities and Engineering has been spraying on campus.

According to Superintendent of Grounds Ron Smith, F&E treats for mosquitoes only as needed.

"We only treat for them when we get complaints," Smith said. F&E started receiving the complaints around Aug. 31 and decided to implement a fogging program, which ran until Sept. 18. An outside company was hired to fog three times a week for two weeks, from 3 until 5 a.m.
