Art critic Peter Schjedahl has written, "While looking at Sol LeWitt wall drawings, you can hear your blood pressure drop." Since Jan. 26, LeWitt's newly commissioned, large-scale wall drawing and wall sculptures have been on exhibit in the Rice Art Gallery in Sewall Hall. The exhibit will continue through April 13. The Farish Gallery in Anderson Hall is exhibiting selections from LeWitt's recent series of sculptures, Complex Forms . Gallery Director Kimberly Davenport will give a gallery talk on Thursday and will present these new works as well as previous work by LeWitt. In conjunction with the new exhibit, the gallery is auctioning off an original gouache on paper, titled Squiggly Brushstrokes , 1996. The piece is valued at $10,000. The funds from the auction will go for the gallery's exhibition program. The winner will be announce April 13.
