Campus gate update

At press time, the Campus Police had plans to open the gate at Entrance 3 effective March 13 at midnight. According to Campus Police Chief Mary Voswinkel, officers chose wait until now to follow through with the proposed plan mentioned in the Feb. 28 issue of the Thresher (of opening the small driveway and locking the iron gates near Lovett College starting March 1), because the date fell right before midterm recess, when students would be away and unlikely to be informed of the changes, and also because there were minor mechanical problems with the gates.
