* Preregistration for continuing undergraduate students ends today at 5 p.m.

* The Rice Pre-Medical Society hosts its third annual "Medicine in the '90's" symposium with the topic "Health Care Reform" in Herring Hall, Room 124 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Speakers come from a wide variety of professions and panels will cover both the financial/policy aspects of health care reform as well as ethical issues. Free lunch is available before noon.

* Sid Richardson College presents the musical Assassins in the Sid commons at 8 p.m. Call (713) 527-4040 for tickets which are $6 or $4 with a Rice ID.

* The Wiess Tabletop Theatre presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the Wiess College commons at 8 p.m. For information or reservations, call (713) 630-8787 or 630-8872. Tickets are $5 or $4 with a Rice ID.

* Here Comes Mr. Jordan to the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. This comedy of errors is one of Hollywood's most popular angel-come-to-earth films. Admission is $4.50, and a $1 discount is available with a Rice ID.

* Director Val Lewton's chilling masterpiece, The Seventh Victim , is playing at the Rice Media Center at 9:20 p.m. As usual, admission is $4.50 or $3.50 with a Rice ID.

SATURDAY, APRIL 5

* For all of those misguided souls headed to law school, Legalease is sponsoring a free mock LSAT at 9 a.m. in Sewall Hall, Room 305. If you have questions, contact Donna Goggin at (713) 630-8207 or send email to dcg@rice.edu with questions.

* The Rice Media Center presents Wallace and Gromit at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Aardman Animation Studio combines stop-motion clay animation and British humor to produce this imaginative film comedy. Admission is $4.50 or $1 less with a Rice ID.

* Assassins , the Sid musical, is still playing at Sid at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6, but you can save $2 with your Rice ID! Call (713) 527-4040.

* If you're interested in the musical events off campus, check out the Ukranian Boys Choir concert at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road at Edloe. Admission is free, but an offering will be taken to benefit the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster and the Chernobyl Children's Hospital in Kiev.

* Interested in drunken revelry? Drop by Brown College's annual toga party, Bacchanalia, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. There will be a DJ, live music by The Rachels and cheese baklava. As if these weren't enough, the party is free!

SUNDAY, APRIL 6

* Watch the men's tennis team take on the Aggies at 1:30 p.m. in the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

* Rice Chalice is sponsoring a free Unitarian Universalist "Be - In," from 2 to 5 p.m. It's on Fannin Street, one block south of Southmore, just south of the First Unitarian Universalist Church. Activities include music, Buddhist meditation, T'ai Chi, paper airplanes, beginners' yoga and bubbles.

* Wallace and Gromit is playing again at the Rice Media Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $4.50 or $3.50 with a Rice ID.

* Hey, have you seen Assassins yet? Once is just not enough. It's still playing at Sid at 8 pm. Tickets are only $4 each, if you can find your ID. Call (713) 527-4040.

MONDAY, APRIL 7

* The Shepherd School of Music presents the inaugural recital of the Edythe Bates Old Recital Hall and Grand Organ at 8 p.m. with the music of Bach, Franck, Messiaen, Widor and others. Admission is $10, and advance tickets are required. Call (713) 527-4933. Repeat performances will be on April 10 and 13.

* The Student Association meets at 10 p.m. in Kelley Lounge in the Student Center.

TUESDAY, APRIL 8

* The Houston Friends of Music present the Emerson String Quartet in Stude Concert Hall at 8 p.m. Admission with reserved seating is $25 or $20. There are a limited number of complimentary tickets for Rice faculty, staff and students. Call (713) 285-5400.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9

* If you're tired of CK, perhaps your meal money can be better spent at the Student Center Advisory Board's all-you-can-eat buffet in the Grand Hall of the RMC from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Use your meal card or pay $5.

THURSDAY, APRIL 10

* The President's Lecture Series presents Edward Rothstein, the cultural critic at large for The New York Times , and "Outrageous Form: On Music, Mathematics and the Sublime" at 8 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the RMC. Talk to your RPC representative for tickets.
