Tower of Power

The holidays at Rice had a little more sparkle with the completion of the South Plant’s 85-foot-tall glass steam tower last month. Designed by renowned architect Antoine Predock, the South Plant will provide the chilled water and steam necessary to heat and cool the BioScience Research Collaborative at the corner of Main Street and University Boulevard, as well as other buildings that eventually will make their home on the southwest side of campus.
