Network wiring for the Sid Richardson Masters House was completed in June 2005.
The Masters House for Sid Richardson College is unique among masters' houses at Rice because it is completely contained within the college itself. The other eight masters' houses are independent structures near their college or attached to their college by a walkway or other means. Students at Sid visit their Masters by entering the "front door" located inside the college lobby. Like other Masters families, the Sid Richardson house sports a private patio.
Because site rennovations were already planned for June 2005, the Sid Rich Masters House was also slated for the new network implementation at the same time; and so this site became the first building at Rice in which the new network project was complete.
