Site Leader
Step 2 of 3 - Site Leader Agreement
Prior to being accepted as a Site Leader, all applicants will be required to sign a copy of the agreement below.
In order to fully understand
what I am expected to do and to provide the
safest trip possible for myself and my group's
participants, I agree to do the following:
- Attend the MANDATORY Site
Leader training presented by BreakAway on
the evening of Friday, October 24 and all
day on Saturday, October 25. Site Leaders
who do not attend this full training will
be ineligible for selection as Site Leaders
of Alternative Spring Breaks advised by the
Community Involvement Center.
- Participate in 1-2 additional one-hour Site Leader training sessions conducted by Community Involvement Center staff during the fall semester.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Community Involvement Center throughout the course of planning the trip.
- Maintain consistent communication with my host agency.
- Advertise my trip and recruit trip participants.
- Participate in trip participant application and selection process.
- Accept responsibility for the financial management of my trip.
- Ensure an even application of selection criteria for my trip.
- Facilitate pre- and post-trip meetings, including a post-trip service experience.
- Ensure that all trip reports (budget, journal, evaluation, and photo album) are completed after the trip is over.
- Adhere to the regulations of Rice University
and the Community Involvement Center as they relate
to sponsored travel.
- Have adequate time available to take on a minimum
5 hour per week commitment.
- Be dedicated to leading the group in fundraising (including grant application, personal involvement in group fundraising, and assistance with personal solicitations).
- Be flexible, because sites, participants, and
conditions may change beyond our control.
I understand that the Community Involvement Center will:
- Act as a liaison to host agencies when necessary.
- Assist with budget preparation and development.
- Coordinate trip transportation.
- Assist with trip advertising and participant recruitment.
- Oversee the participant application and selection process.
- Provide training and other necessary resources.
- Provide historical context to past trips.
- Be flexible, because sites, participants, and
conditions may change beyond our control.
