Where is the Mudd Building?
The Mudd building houses many staff members of the Office of the Vice Provost of Information Technology.

The Mudd Building is item 48 on the interactive University Map. Mudd is close to the southeast corner of the North parking lot at Entrance 21; visitor parking for Mudd is available at Entrance 20. Location
The Mudd Building is on the north side of the Rice University campus, situated between the Ryon Lab and Hamman Hall.
On-Campus Directions
Visitors who are already on the Rice University campus can reach the Mudd Building most easily by riding the Graduate Apartment shuttle and asking the shuttle driver to stop at the Mudd Building.
Off-Campus Driving Directions
Although the Mudd building is located at the southeast corner of the North parking lot by Entrance 21, paid visitor parking --requiring a major credit card-- is available at Entrance 20 on Rice Boulevard. Additional paid visitor parking is available in the Central Campus Garage, or at the stadium, where a free shuttle bus transfers visitors to locations throughout the campus. To reach Entrance 20 on the north side of the Rice University campus: Take the Main Street exit from Loop 610 South and drive in the direction of the Medical Center; drive past the Main Street entrances for Rice and turn left on Sunset Boulevard, following the left fork in the road where Sunset and Rice Boulevard meet. Entrance 20 will be on your left.
- From Highway 59, South: Take the Greenbriar/Shepherd exit from southbound US Highway 59, turn south (under the freeway) on Greenbriar. Turn left on Rice Boulevard. Follow Rice Boulevard past all the football stadium entrances and watch for Entrance 20 on your right.
- From Highway 59, North: Take the Greenbriar/Shepherd exit from northbound US Highway 59, turn south on Greenbriar. Turn left on Rice Boulevard. Follow Rice Boulevard past all the football stadium entrances and watch for Entrance 20 on your right.
Directions for Public Transportation
- From the METRORail: Exit the train at the Hermann Park/Rice University stop. Cross Fannin and then Main Street. Walk along Sunset Boulevard on the south sidewalk so that you continue walking along Rice Boulevard when Sunset forks off to the right. Walking briskly, Entrance 21 can be reached in about 20 minutes. Turn left into the university, the Mudd Building is directly in front of you. - From the METRO Bus, Texas Medical Center Shuttle: Exit the Main Street shuttle at the intersection of Main and MacGregor. (North MacGregor dead ends at Entrance 3 for Rice University.) Enter the university and walk straight across campus through the Main Quad past Willy's statue (statue of William Marsh Rice). Keep walking through the Engineering Quad to the Mechanical Lab. Turn left and walk past the Ryon Engineering Lab to the Mudd Building.
