New ITalerts mailing list
In response to customer requests, the Office of the Vice Provost for Information Technology (IT) has created a subscription-based electronic mailing list for specific announcements called "alerts." For three years, IT has posted these announcements to the IT web page and tracked the announcements in blogs or other news services. This new option will allow any subscriber to receive these notices directly.

Teaching with Technology Brown Bag October 24
Lisa Spiro and Carlos Solis present "I Didn't Know You Could Do That: 5 Tips and Tools" in the next brown bag session on October 24.
Using current technologies in today's university courses sounds more difficult than it is. Many instructors' daily tasks already touch on technologies that can be converted to teaching enhancements, or are similar to educational technologies in use at other universities. Come learn how your familiar routines can lead you to including helpful technologies in your classroom. Some of the tools we'll cover include: Google Docs, RSS feeds, Zotero, and the MATRIX media manager.
A free brown bag lunch is available to the first 15 RSVPs (email solis@rice.edu)
