PDAs and Smartphones - Q&A session to be repeated in September
Four PDAs (personal digital assistants) and smartphones work successfully with Rice email and calendar systems. If you missed the question-and-answer sessions in May and June, the next one will take place during the fall semester, on September 12. Additional information on PDAs can be found on the IT web site at: http://www.rice.edu/it/pda/
New Data Center - one month to commissioning
The new off-site Data Center will be commissioned and ready for occupancy on July 13, 2007. http://www.rice.edu/it/NewDC/
Starting as soon as July 16, the majority of Rice's computing systems and research clusters will be moved to this new state-of-the-art environment for critical infrastructure and application systems. If an IT staff member has not yet contacted you about moving your server, cluster, or system to the new Data Center and you wish to take advantage of its services, please contact Project Manager Rick Nelson at rlnelson@rice.edu.
