IT Campus Update: 19 January 2006

NEW: Owl-Space

Faculty and graduate students are now eligible to receive accounts on Owl-Space, which is an online environment that supports course management, collaboration and personal online workspaces. Owl-Space will be deployed to the rest of the campus next fall. For more information, email edtech@rice.edu.

NETWORK: Campus Network Project

Upgrades to the building networking have started across campus with re-wiring complete in 7 buildings and in progress in 11 buildings.

UPDATE: Data Centers

The design process for a future off-site data center has started. In the meantime, upgrades to the Mudd data center and the temporary off-site data center facility are handling current needs.
