November 2007 Daylight Saving Time Reminder

RE: Daylight Saving Time Reminder

Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends in two days, and Information Technology (IT) has applied the DST patches and upgrades to IT-supported campus systems and applications.

Please consider this reminder regarding personal calendar updates and independently administered machines.

The DST upgrades applied by IT were for IT-supported computers, systems and applications. The computers, servers and applications across the campus which are administered independently can only be upgraded by their administrators.

For personal calendars, check each appointment in the first three weeks of November to make sure the time is accurate. In March, when the new DST time began, other universities reported that Outlook in particular seemed to be have a problem with the DST upgrades. One suggestion from the Educause CIO-mailing list is to put the time of all invitations and events in the subject line and body of messages.
