Explore Rice is our signature one-day open house program with opportunities to interact with Rice students, faculty and staff. Each fall, we welcome hundreds of visitors to campus from around the world to see for themselves why Rice is the best choice for many bright and curious students.
Our mission is to expand access to the wealth of opportunities at Rice, and that begins with the admission process. If you’re interested in learning more about Rice but might not have the resources to visit campus, we encourage you to apply for a SOAR travel grant to attend Explore Rice. Travel grant recipients will benefit from an expanded program (Saturday, September 22 thru Monday, September 24) and Rice will cover all travel, meal and lodging costs associated with the program. Participants will stay in one of our residential colleges with a current Rice student, dine on campus in our serveries and have extra opportunities to explore student life and studying at Rice through enriching activities designed to answer all of your most important questions.
We look forward to receiving your application!
SOAR was one of the main reasons I decided to attend Rice. Every interaction I had ended up making an impact during my college decision making process.
